Alarm clock ...

Makes you wonder don't it? Have Woken up several times since four o'clock - but still had the hell scared out of me by the alarm clock! A rare thing these days as I usually turn the stupid thing off before it goes off...

A Blue Moon .....

According to various Internet sources, Friday evening/ night should see a Blue Moon!! (no singing please - have had that tune bouncing round my head for the last five minutes) Can't honestly say I have seen one, and the next one isn't till 2015. Might just keep an eye out for it, but am expecting very little - due to cloud cover most likely

A scene from a Benny Hill show ???

Imagine, in your minds eye the following with the sound track of that chase music they used to play on the Benny Hill Show. There is me (and at certain times - Laura) chasing a small amphibian around the front room. Furniture cast aside. 101 dog tennis balls recovered (and then promptly returned under cupboards/book cases etc by a lunatic dog) and, finally giving up for a minute or two as the frog vanishes into the kids toy pile.

Have just walked into the hall way, to go to "the little boys room" and, sat, against the toilet door is a green and brown speckled frog. A real green and brown speckled frog. Now I have to work out the best way to release it back into the garden ?????

Well actually stuff you Microsoft.

For the second day running I have had to use system restore to remove the latest windows update on the main computer to get on the Internet on that machine ( it uses an Ethernet cable as opposed to wireless ).

Should have known something would happen because, since updates day last Tuesday we have been getting no Internet reports at work - and it has been passed by the god like ones above us that some XP and Windows 7 users have got this update that causes the virus guard program's to block Internet access - great!!

The British weather

Don't you just love the contradictions of the British weather. Am stood, looking at the Dog looking totally confused at the fact that the sun is shining bright, but it's raining and to my rear the dark cloud and thunder appear to be coming.
At least the weather is never boring

A Quiet House ....

This may sound like an odd thing to say ( as I duck down waiting for a comment from certain people ;0) ) but there is something more melancholy to me about a house, full of people asleep, but silent and quiet than a house you know is empty and equally quiet.
Maybe that is why I feel I need a radio or tv to be playing away in the background, even though I know I probably won't be taking much notice of it.
Maybe I just don't like the silence

That has made my day. Have just been watching a BBC Breakfast (http://bbc.co.uk/breakfast) news story about the Robot World Cup being held in Bristol. Not normally a smile inducing event for the non-nerd but, how can you not smile when you see a toddler pretending to be one of the little robots

I guess I should be pleased that, should I survive work today, it is a Bank Holiday weekend - three days off
But I just can't get that excited. Am tired and achy. The eyes refuse to work again. It's cool, it's dull and the days are getting shorter, the nights longer. I'm sure I will feel more positive later, i really should stop mentioning my thoughts straight after waking up ...

Dougal's darting backwards and forwards, in and out of the back door whilst I get my shoes on. He looks back at me with expectant eyes.

Another busy morning .....

Routine (my routine least ways) has been disturbed once again ;0)

I really am getting to be a stubborn old git.

As my alarm went off I could hear the shower running and, when I moved enough to crawl to the bathroom I hear cupboard doors bang and the cups and plates clatter in the kitchen.

Can even hear Cathy being "woken up" by Dougie . I really need to find a way of latching that door that he can't open!!

Oh iPad .....

Oh iPad , you fickle thing. Now I turn try and turn your power back on, and your battery is now showing 15%.

Mind you, I think that I still ought to put you on charge.

Grumpy ....

I know I can get grumpy, but an iPad ? I know you need a charge, but you didn't have to shut down so immediately - just coz your battery is showing less than 10%.

What do you buy an inanimate object to say sorry ;0)

Morning All .....

What's happening in this house? The norm is I get up, usually on my own. I get my breakfast, again usually on my home. There might be a passing "hello" from another member of the family but you get the idea.

Not this morning everyone is up and , for an old got like me, it's to busy, to early and it's spoiling my normal routine ;0)

Driving - arrghhh ....

Given my job, it's good that I normally don't mind driving. Nothing wrong with pointing the van in the right direction, turning the radio up and pushing the accelerator down.

But not today. Is been a "screaming out of the windscreen" day with, what seems to be a continual succession of Sunday drivers, mobile traffic lights and road moles and their diggers.

I Suppose it could be worse ?

Opposite to what was said, and tried several minutes ago, I just can't leave alone.
Have fiddled with the various settings and am trying one last time.

And it is one last time, eyes are heavy and brain numb.

God I feel awful this morning - feels like a sinus infection, but, knowing my luck it's more likely to be a serious case of hay fever. Does hay fever taste that nasty?email

It's Friday

Am guessing I should be pleased its Friday, but I'm not.

Have just woken up.
My eyes are blurry and sore.
My back and leg ache because I slept "funny".
And there is a dog snoring loudly on the landing and I still have to survive 8 hours at work. Feeling Grumpy just doesn't cover it. Tomorrow should be a lie in day, but I bet that won't happen either.
Guess its time to slope off mumbling further to myself and put the kettle on.

Utterly shell shocked - just rang the insurance company to cancel (got a cheaper quote) and they just wiped £250 off the original renewal, just for a 0800 phone call. Guess I wont be moving after all.

Insurance

Am sat, looking through a list of insurance quotes to find a better one than the one we've got. My brain hurts. But it does look like we are going halve the cost. ????

Come home to find Laura, playing the Sims on her brothers computer. Big smile coz there she is, moaning that although she can build a house, she can't fit it with patio doors???
