Friday 23rd March 2012

Morning all, and welcome to Friday.
Doesn't feel like I have had a week off, I'm sure I would have done less at work. And, another busy day beckons.
Skip visit is urgently required, followed by a visit to the DIY store for parts. Then @10 I might actually start doing something ;0(
Better dose up on coffee then!!

what happens ....

... To all the iPad 2's?

Now the world is slowly being infested with the iPad 3, obviously a greatly inflated prices, as is normal for any Apple product, what has happened to all the iPad 2's?

Do Apple "recover" them, forcing people to buy the latest incarnation, or has something else happened to them. Donated to orphans? Sent to the third world to help delevop local skills ? Am questing I already know.

If anyone from Apple, or one of their suppliers is out there, I will give you some cash for a couple of the old versions. Justntontake them off their hands you understand.

Posterous has been acquired by Twitter

Attached, hopefully, is an email form one of the sharing sites that I use - Posterous. They have just been purchased by Twitter, who have a bit of a rep for being buy, use and close merchants. The statement from Posterous seems, to me, to be vague.
Not happy

Posterous Spaces

Hi Dave,

I’m thrilled to announce that Posterous has been acquired by Twitter!

The opportunities in front of Twitter are exciting, and we couldn’t be happier to bring our technology and expertise to hundreds of millions of users around the globe.  Plus, the people at Twitter are genuinely nice folks who share our vision for making sharing simpler.

Posterous Spaces will remain up and running without disruption. We’ll give users ample notice if we make any changes to the service. For users who would like to back up their content or move to another service, we’ll share clear instructions for doing so in the coming weeks.

You can find more information answers to other questions you may have here.

Finally, I’d like to offer thanks to everyone, especially those who have been with Posterous since day one. The last four years have been an amazing journey. Your encouragement, praise and criticism have made Posterous better, and I really appreciate everything you’ve done.

Thanks again and I look forward to building great things for you at Twitter.

- Sachin

Well, that went really well ....

I am still shell shocked after the world wind of activity that made up the main part of my Monday morning.

The Window Fitters managed to fit, effectively, 18 windows and 2 doors in less than 12 hours (9.5 to be exact) Fair enough, 10 of the windows where those involved in the two bays, but even so, impressed.

It just today we have to put back curtain rails, blinds and the like . We already have a couple of trailers full to go down to the skip and then we can start on all the other going jobs 😉

Never mind, well happy with the work done yesterday - oh we'll, time for my first coffee and then away we go!!

Lauras Concert

Half time @ Lauras concert. Been used as a seat and a tripod, whilst trying to coach a 4 year old how to use a camera.
And the concert. Its pretty good as these things go. Made all the more entertaining for the on off escape of a toddler.
Just waiting for Laura and jemma's solos.email

Thursday 14th March 2012

Good morning everyone and welcome to Thursday - yeah!! Nearly Friday and the weekend!!

What a morning to wake up to. As I stand making breakfast, or looking out of the Front Room window staring down the street. The whole of my real world has vanished into the mists of a foggy morning. Once in a while a wispy wraith walks passed in the mist and the murk. Am not really looking forward to filling my van, let alone travelling out to where my jobs will be. It's already cold and damp.

Luckily, the mist is only due to stay till mid morning. The, smiles all round. Have a safe day everyone.

What the hell is it with Road Works?

I know we British are preoccupied with the damned things. And that they are, in some cases least ways , necessary. But what is it with this year - there have been, seemingly, so many more than normal.

I have just travelled around 12 miles and encountered 3 sets of roadworks. One set, which is a long term set, is following the route of a long term set of roadworks ( for another utility) that only finished a month or so ago.

It just drives you nuts!!

Well here ends another weekend , and, I am sat on the bed wondering what in the name of all that is holy am I doing ?
In have been ironing, on and off, all day.
And I am absolutely shattered. So I have a bath, get ready for bed and, instead of going to sleep I am sat here watching three psychics hunt for clues of the Zodiac Killer. I must be mad!
Am also guessing Cathy will find me snoring and the TV playing to its self.
Night night everyone. Sleep well.

A Sunday Ummm???

Morning all, and it's nearly the weekend - yeah!
Noticed a few stories about the release of the iPad 3 with little honest interest when I thought "I wonder?"
So went straight to my iPad and onto the settings screen.
Taking a deep, deep breath I pressed the newly indicated update message.
Needless to say, I'm still typing!

Morning all, and welcome to Sunday.

Isn't it strange, the thoughts that go through your mind as you wake.

Today's?

If zombies are supposed to be "The Living Dead" do they have head, back and joint pain like me?

hows that work??

Huh, how does this work?
Have just looked at my twitter feed, via Hellotxt, and nearly every blokes icon is the smiling face of Peter Levy, off "Look North".
Having looked a bit further down the list, I even noticed that even included Kelly Holmes???

Wednesday 7th March 2012 morning

Morning everyone, and welcome to a very early portion of the middle of the week.

Although it is still dark as I look out of the window, I am expecting to have to scrape the Van windscreen yet again. The air in the bathroom is cold. I'm cold, and the eyes have, once again refused to work due to lack of interest.
At least tonight is Archery night, so I have something to look forward to.
Take it easy everyone , and have a safe one.

Now I'm Confused

Well, that's another Monday work day stored in the finished history file. But I am now confused.

Up, until a few hours ago, I was fixed in my mind what I was going to do when my present mobile phone contract comes up for renewal. It was going to be easy - really like my BlackBerry, so I would up grade to the latest BlackBerry and away we would go again. That was until I got a job in a famous high street phone shop.

I saw the Samsung Note and the Google Nexus, drool, drool
Now I don't know. Tomorrow may be a return to the status quo, but I doubt it.
Hummmmmmm........

sunday 4th March 2012 - late afternoon

As I type this, Ireland are playing France at Rugby
And I am still drying out from taking the dog for a walk.

Not an hour or so before, with a bitter wind, icy rain and sleet, and the beginning of a snow shower, we had left Tesco's making the usual comments that the British make in this weather. "We must be mad to be out in this" etc, etc, etc.

Yet, here I am, just in from walking the dog. Still with a brain freeze that would normally grace wolfing down a well frozen lolly. My trainers have leaked, my nose has dripped and I don't think I will be warm for the rest of the day.
And, before anyone says, I know - I must be mad!

Sunday 4th March 2012

Well, there we go, yet another week over, and another Monday starts to loom over the horizon.I Am, I have to say, wallowing in a mound of too much to do.
There are so many things that need doing.
I, as usual, haven't got a clue what to do first.
Am guessing that a Supermarket visit is the most important .
Nothing to eat sort of focuses the mind. But it will be a puppy walk first, then fill the washer. Try and finish the bills, run round after my own tail. Ironing. Staring into the wild blue yonder wondering.
Told you I had plenty to do ;0)

Am not looking forward to today

Morning all, it Saturday, I'm at work, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Saturdays have never been my most favourite work day, seeing that there is so much more I could be doing. Nothing (like nothing!!). Walking the dog. Archery. You get the drift.

But work it has to be. It's just, because all the other departments have a weekend, or at least a skeleton staff at best, everything we do is just that much harder to achieve. Never mind, I guess it something that I have gotten used to over time.

But I still don't like working Saturdays .
