Well, that was a strange conversation ....

I have , not long since, finished a rather long phone call.

The call, made to me at an arranged time, was a “Tele-Consultation”.

I have to be honest I hadn't really heard of one before, but, apparently the people I work for rate them.

Firstly, when the call came in I wasn't really sure what to expect. I know the firm has to keep at track on "the sick, lame and lazy" (no comments please - I know I'm sick ) but it’s used as a method of support and, of course, a gauge of how long someone needs to be off. Or could they come back on another “easier” (that’s a good one) job.

Anyway, having related the same timeline story as I have already related many times before. And then came the shock.

The nice lady, having taken all the required information, and, baring in mind she would have preferred to make this call AFTER my Hospital Consulation, actually gave me a lot of useful information, possible treatments, and what the company can supply should the need be. She even suggested that I take Pilates (but only after everything else has been sorted out)

Then comes the tag-line. The firm’s own medical advisors say I’m still not fit (TODAY) for work, be that out in the Field or at HOME.

No lifting. No stretching. No straining the back.

Never mind – back to being bored.

Is it me, or does time move so, so slowly?

As many of you know, things have not been running that well for me in the past few weeks. I know, in the scale of things, having a problem with my back is no great shakes. Not with people suffering from the various Cancers, viruses and the like.

But it is a big thing to me.

But waiting for things to happen – the whole thing is so boring and tedious. And that’s the killer. I’m trying to do everything right by everyone, but maybe not the best for me. I’ve been advised to be busy, but not to “over-do” anything, really without understanding what over-doing something really is.

I’m left with a little ironing (it would be fair to say that standing still for too long is now uncomfortable), spending some time on the computer. The odd picture/painting and the odd plastic model.

There is, however, some light at the end of the tunnel, as the saying goes.

Friday is Hospital Day.

Maybe we will be able to progress.

Testing BlogJet

I have installed an interesting application - BlogJet. It's a cool Windows client for my blog tool (as well as for other tools). Get your copy here: http://blogjet.com

Facebook posting, yet another update

Looks like its back to what was yesterday’s norm, which is I have to use at least two different systems to post to all the site that i want. It is true that the FaceBook import system does sort of work, the results seem to be partial and certainly none amendable.

Never mind – back to normal.

A FaceBook type of test ……

Here we go again, this seeming fascination with trying to make a remote post on Facebook.

Having spent quite a time searching Google and Ask for various options, there really were only three end options (I think). One was the way that i was already initially doing what i was doing – to wit using a posting client to post to my other remaining blog sites, and then logging onto Facebook and then starting again.

Option two seems to be finding a Twitter plugin, posting via the client with a link to twitter, and then the twitter updater in FaceBook would then catch the twitter tweet and place a link in facebook back to the Blog posting.

And option three?

Well this is a test of option three. First was to setup an import and RSS link from Facebook to one of my other blogs - “That Life as We Know it” via the Blogger site. Step two is to do what I’m doing now, posting to that particular Blog with my various moans and missives. And then step three should automatically catch the rest up – Facebook should then import the posting – although I’m under the impression that there is no direct means, by Facebook it’s self least ways, of editing the post if it needs it.

Anyway – it’s time to see if this works. And, as it’s not raining at the moment, I think that I’ll go take a quick walk. Get some fresh air, and just to get out of the house for half an hour or so.

Talk to you later

God Bless

Test Posting ……..

This is just a test posting – it is so difficult, seemingly, to be able to post direct to FaceBook
