Busy ...

Well that's several cupboards moved, and half way through refilling them. Given how the rest of the day has gone (badly), this is a big bonus. Have to say though, given the amount of gear in them, it's probably a good that I do like Lilliput Lane Houses

Arrrgghhh

Argh - just seen a face with a piggy nose, and hairy chimp ears. Opps must stop looking in the mirror LOL

What the Hell!!

What, in the name of hector , am I doing? It really is stupid O'Clock in the morning and I'm sat typing this and talking to the dog. And I don't know why. I just simply woke up. Nap at Dinner time expected

Poor Dougal

There is something crashing its way round the spin cycle of the washing machine and Dougal is stood in the kitchen staring at that strange, odd sound.

He really doesn't like it. He looks to the noise, then he looks at me with those sad “protect me” eyes. The machine has just slowed down and you could almost see Dougie gulp, take a deep breath and rush past the machine and on into the hall. And I thought there was not much that could really bother my puppy

What the???

Am watching the preliminary competition's for the Worlds Strongest Man.

These people are built like “brick bogs”, usually with a stomach that would have a dietician having a quiet heart attack.

How's it work?? I would have a problem lifting the strap, and they are lifting half a city

Tired, so very tired

Will be so pleased when tomorrow has come and gone.

Not only will it be the weekend, and not only is tomorrows shift “an extra” but, at least in theory, I don't have to wake up early for a day or two (even though we all know what will really happen)

Am about to give up on the computer (and everything else) for tonight. The eyes are closing. Concentration is none existent.

Time to call it a day – an early NITE NITE to everyone

Strange Sleep

What a strange nights sleep!
Woke up at around 2 after fighting off hoards of intelligent, monster Ants ( or were they evil grapes with legs?). Woke up once again around 4 after once again fighting off millions of flesh eating cockroaches. And then, finally, and most frighteningly is shoot bolt upright, around 6, thinking I had slept through, missing getting up for work. And it's Monday!! Then I realised, it is Monday. Have a good day everyone

Thursday, November 08, 2012

just to let you know ..

Duck everyone, my face hurts. my head hurts and i'm not in a good mood.
I would stay out my way if I were you ..

should be ok in the morning hopefully!!

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

Hummmm..

I knew dinner time was approaching as my brain was wondering where my stomach had got to. Perusing the various lunch options it came down to either a salad box or a Bacon Burger with an egg on top. So given its cold. It's raining and I'm feeling not a little fed up - try making a good guess which option won?? And I didn't get any of the egg on my jumper for once ;0)

It's Monday

Waking up early! Feeling "rough round the edges". Sneezing. Snotty nose! It can only be a work day, and it can only be Monday - have a good day, and a safe week everyone.

Saturday 3rd November 2012

Morning All, once again can I personally thank everyone who came to say goodbye to Mum. The sun was out, and the sky blue (for the main part), what more could we have asked. I feel better today for having known that everything went the way she wanted. Good bless you all for caring ..

Friday, 2nd November 2012

Well today's the day I have been dreading. Strangely I seemed to have slept well but am feeling rather fragile even now. Can I "Thank You" to everyone who will be coming to say goodbye to mum now. Im not being rude, its just that i'lI know how we will all be later on. Love you Mum xxx

Thursday, November 01, 2012

What an odd day

I really don't know how I feel today . Am at Mums getting ready for tomorrow but it just doesn't feel real somehow. I just know tomorrow is going to hurt. A few tears today. Tomorrow??

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Good, I really hate paper ...

It has crawled past Nine O'Clock, and that pile of Bills and bits isn't really going down as fast as I would like - and thats with both me and Cathy going through it. Tomorrow, letter typing day (hopefully!!)

Oh Dear ....

Having spent some of the day at Mum's looking for Bills, statements, companies to contact and the like, I have just increased the paper pile at least 5 fold. Oops !! At least we found most if the things we were looking for - even had Dads HiFi running, after at least 12years - 60's Love Songs on CD, and even some on LP, big smiles for once this week

Monday, October 15, 2012

Sad ....

A bad start to the day, waking up to a raft of sad songs running through my mind. And a cry and heavy heart already. Today is going to be a very long day

Sunday, October 07, 2012

Wasted

Well that's been a solid waste of a weekend - eyes are burning, muscles are aching and, seemingly, having slept a great deal of the rest if the time. Always a good indicator when your told "you look awful" ( among the clearer ones ). And tomorrow is Monday. Brilliant ...

Wow

#BTTCCarfire British touring cars are always a good watch, but to see Matt Neil's car catch fire as it runs round, well exciting is not the word

Bond, James Bond ...

So it's 50 years since the release of Dr No. You just have to like a good Bond Film. The only snag is, who was the best Bond? Connery ? I must say I did like Timothy Dalton and I quite like Daniel Craig. I do know who I didn't like though ...

4:30??

I wonder what happened this morning. Woke up up at 4:30 and that was that. Thankfully it's Friday and there's a saved longbow program on the sky box - "nock, draw, loose" Just love the sound of longbow arrows let fly

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

Wondering ..

Am sat, looking at my private digital " journals " wondering what, or whether, I should put something in. Put down my thoughts for me. Never been a big diary person in that way, but occasionally I have entered various observations. I think I shall ponder ....

Ouch ...

Ouch .. IBS pain, that will see to breakfast I guess

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Am feeling, for some reason, disconnected from the rest of the human race. Sad face - big time. Nite nite
Everyone is shattered after the trials and tribulations if the weekend. Tilly wasn't very well at all yesterday, and everyone else is just so tired - I could sleep for a week.

Sunday, September 30, 2012

Am sat wondering. With everything else that is happening, why do I care what happens in the X Factor? But, in a funny (and sad) way I do. How can the Essex weirdo go through, but the lad from Liverpool (and Scunny?) didn't ? If I'm not to careful, I might even care who wins!
Bills and phone calls. And now , just getting ready for another trip over the bridge. I suppose, at least I got to see the motorbikes .. A bit selfish I know. But I need a smile at the minute
Probably not the best time to watch last nights Dr Who. But they were right in the papers for once - it IS a tear jerker. Bye Bye Amelia Pond

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Positive ...

Well that's the first job done and decided. The air rifle that went boing has been sorted and test fired - yeah! The other rifle with a jam - not so good . Needs a more expert gunsmith. Am wondering now what to do next.

Friday, September 28, 2012

I knew it ...

I knew it ... Got home from the hospital to find the main ring main had tripped. After a bit of fiddling I found that it was only the dining room/lounge ring. Am guessing we have a puddle under the floor boards and one of the under floor wires is hanging in it. Need an electrician, but haven't the spare cash to pay for one!!

Some day off

Why is it,when you get a day off work, it feels even busier than when you are at work. Even now, at barely 8 in the morning I am sat in the haematology department of the local hospital "volunteering" a blood sample. This message probably won't even go out until I get home. There is no wireless network that I can use, and the iPad doesn't have a mobile account (not that you are suppose to have that active here either). The thing is I can't see today getting very much better!!

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Digital drawing

Am having ( or more accurately was having) one if those "ummmm" moments. Have sketched, using paper and pencil on and off for ages, but yesterday I started doing a "proper" picture on the iPad for the first time . And I'm not sure I like it

Sunday, September 23, 2012

Am sat, watching a saved episode of Mock the Week having already watched last nights saved Dr Who thinking that I should really do something else. And then thinking "STUFF IT!!"

After the stresses of this week, an hour or so shooting helps settle the mind. Pity about the continuing ache in my arm

Am I right in the head?

Am I right in the head? (And yes, I am expecting certain types of replies from certain people ;0) ). Once again the automated part of my mind has woken me up at around 6, even though I'm not at work. However my first thought was "wouldn't it be good to shoot some paper?" Arrows or pellets? Both are good. Is that normal?

Friday, September 21, 2012

Friday ....

The positive is, of course it's Friday !! But that's about it. It's dark. It's dull. It's cold and its raining. And, yet, it is only the beginning of autumn. It feels like it is going to be a very long winter

iOS6, an update (sort of)

A personally annoying "addition" to the new version of the Apple OS is, you download a new app, find it on you screen to see it sporting a bright blue ribbon with "New" emblazoned across it. Just in case you had forgotten you have just downloaded it

Untitled

Last night I went ahead and did something I wouldn't usually do. I updated both my pad and phone to the new apple iOS6. The good news is they both still work. The difference? Ah well that's another story. With the claim, in the supplied text, of over 200 separate changes. I've noticed about a dozen!!

Monday, September 17, 2012

Seriously not impressed with the way life works at the minute. Nature has a stinking way of treating people who have suffered enough

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Socks .....

How the hell have we ended up with this many socks? And why we're none of them in a pair?

Friday, September 14, 2012

Busy day .....

Spent this morning in Lincoln getting a new work laptop setup, and most of the afternoon near Grimsby using it. There's nothing like getting used to it quickly ;0)

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Weather ....

Ain't it funny weather at the moment. Just through the course of today, it has been cold ( or should I say cool?). It's has been so cloudy the street lights came on and, as it is now sunny. I know the british weather is always an odd thing, but really!!

Is my puppy well fed?

Am just sat here wondering if Douggie is better fed than me? My breakfast consists of bread and butter ( posh bread to be fair) and Douggie has had a bowl of Rabbit, in jelly with assorted vegetables - hummmm

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Typical ...

It's filing typical isn't it. The alarm went off nice and early yesterday when it turned out I wasn't actually at work. This morning - no alarm at all, even though it was seemingly turned on!!!

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Annoyed

Am really Mardy now ( I know, nothing new there ) Got up, having volunteered for overtime. Fed the puppy, filled the van. Stuffed down breakfast and powered up the laptop. Login and nothing. Sometime in the last few days the overtime allocation had been cancelled. And no one thought it was important enough to actually tell me. Not happy .....

Monday, September 10, 2012

You can tell its Monday - am on overtime that I didn't want, stuck on a 5 minute job, that has taken over two hours so far. And, given a safe parking spot, I could imagine myself nodding off. Better get back to the grind stone

Sunday, September 09, 2012

Eyes are now sore, and the brain is tired. Yet there is the dishwasher to fill, a toilet seat to mend and Archery and Airguns gear to put away. What shall I do next ?? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Saturday, September 08, 2012

That just goes to show how out of practice I am with my BareBow. Being unable to hit barn doors comes to mind ;(

Friday, September 07, 2012

A new film

Am thinking of making a film - BIN RAIDER staring Dougal the Labradoodle. Is he in search of ancient artefacts? Of course not, but a nice Pork bone will do nicely. The odd sweet wrapper wouldn't go amiss either ;0)

Thursday, September 06, 2012

A Farm ...

Yeah gods, another job with the term FARM in the address. Let's say hello to the middle of no where again!!!

Wednesday, September 05, 2012

Speedtesters ...

Just out of professional interest I have, at this point in time 3 different speed tester apps on my phone. And it's no wonder we have to deal with such confusion. With a download speed range of 13mb at best and 0.45mb at worst? Wheat chance have I got to work out what's happening

A Cull ...

Not the normal thing to do on waking up but, with iPad in hand, have just had a quick cull of little used "friends" on Facebook. That may well be followed by unused groups, pages and Twitter follows. Am guessing getting ready for work and breakfast are more important

Thursday, August 30, 2012

My poor chair

Someone has killed my big computerChair. Will have to sit on an ordinary chair now - rrrrrrrrrrrr

Alarm clock ...

Makes you wonder don't it? Have Woken up several times since four o'clock - but still had the hell scared out of me by the alarm clock! A rare thing these days as I usually turn the stupid thing off before it goes off...

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

A Blue Moon .....

According to various Internet sources, Friday evening/ night should see a Blue Moon!! (no singing please - have had that tune bouncing round my head for the last five minutes) Can't honestly say I have seen one, and the next one isn't till 2015. Might just keep an eye out for it, but am expecting very little - due to cloud cover most likely

A scene from a Benny Hill show ???

Imagine, in your minds eye the following with the sound track of that chase music they used to play on the Benny Hill Show. There is me (and at certain times - Laura) chasing a small amphibian around the front room. Furniture cast aside. 101 dog tennis balls recovered (and then promptly returned under cupboards/book cases etc by a lunatic dog) and, finally giving up for a minute or two as the frog vanishes into the kids toy pile.
Coffee break and re-think required

That was surprise!!!

Have just walked into the hall way, to go to "the little boys room" and, sat, against the toilet door is a green and brown speckled frog. A real green and brown speckled frog. Now I have to work out the best way to release it back into the garden ?????

Thank you Microsoft ....

Well actually stuff you Microsoft.

For the second day running I have had to use system restore to remove the latest windows update on the main computer to get on the Internet on that machine ( it uses an Ethernet cable as opposed to wireless ).

Should have known something would happen because, since updates day last Tuesday we have been getting no Internet reports at work - and it has been passed by the god like ones above us that some XP and Windows 7 users have got this update that causes the virus guard program's to block Internet access - great!!

The British weather

Don't you just love the contradictions of the British weather. Am stood, looking at the Dog looking totally confused at the fact that the sun is shining bright, but it's raining and to my rear the dark cloud and thunder appear to be coming.
At least the weather is never boring

A Quiet House ....

This may sound like an odd thing to say ( as I duck down waiting for a comment from certain people ;0) ) but there is something more melancholy to me about a house, full of people asleep, but silent and quiet than a house you know is empty and equally quiet.
Maybe that is why I feel I need a radio or tv to be playing away in the background, even though I know I probably won't be taking much notice of it.
Maybe I just don't like the silence

Friday, August 24, 2012

Smile ....

That has made my day. Have just been watching a BBC Breakfast (http://bbc.co.uk/breakfast) news story about the Robot World Cup being held in Bristol. Not normally a smile inducing event for the non-nerd but, how can you not smile when you see a toddler pretending to be one of the little robots

Yeah, I guess ....

Morning All, and welcome too Friday!
I guess I should be pleased that, should I survive work today, it is a Bank Holiday weekend - three days off
But I just can't get that excited. Am tired and achy. The eyes refuse to work again. It's cool, it's dull and the days are getting shorter, the nights longer. I'm sure I will feel more positive later, i really should stop mentioning my thoughts straight after waking up ...

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Dougal's darting backwards and forwards, in and out of the back door whilst I get my shoes on. He looks back at me with expectant eyes.
Do you think he knows he's going for a walk?

Soz ....

Sorry for being so impolite earlier - was just trying to get my thoughts down whilst I could remember how to phrase those thoughts.
So good morning to you all. And I hope you all have a dry, safe and productive day - "have a good 'un"

Another busy morning .....

Routine (my routine least ways) has been disturbed once again ;0)

I really am getting to be a stubborn old git.

As my alarm went off I could hear the shower running and, when I moved enough to crawl to the bathroom I hear cupboard doors bang and the cups and plates clatter in the kitchen.

Can even hear Cathy being "woken up" by Dougie . I really need to find a way of latching that door that he can't open!!

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Oh iPad .....

Oh iPad , you fickle thing. Now I turn try and turn your power back on, and your battery is now showing 15%.

Mind you, I think that I still ought to put you on charge.

Grumpy ....

I know I can get grumpy, but an iPad ? I know you need a charge, but you didn't have to shut down so immediately - just coz your battery is showing less than 10%.

What do you buy an inanimate object to say sorry ;0)

Morning All .....

What's happening in this house? The norm is I get up, usually on my own. I get my breakfast, again usually on my home. There might be a passing "hello" from another member of the family but you get the idea.

Not this morning everyone is up and , for an old got like me, it's to busy, to early and it's spoiling my normal routine ;0)

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Driving - arrghhh ....

Given my job, it's good that I normally don't mind driving. Nothing wrong with pointing the van in the right direction, turning the radio up and pushing the accelerator down.

But not today. Is been a "screaming out of the windscreen" day with, what seems to be a continual succession of Sunday drivers, mobile traffic lights and road moles and their diggers.

I Suppose it could be worse ?

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Should really give up ......

Opposite to what was said, and tried several minutes ago, I just can't leave alone.
Have fiddled with the various settings and am trying one last time.

And it is one last time, eyes are heavy and brain numb.

Have good sleep everyone

Arrrgghhhhh

Am guessing it is time to walk away and try again tomorrow.

Firstly it seems we get several posts , and now we get none.

Perhaps it's time to accept that I will have to stop the multi post and go to post once, send many. Nite Nite

Tired and not a little fed up at the moment...

Tired and not a little fed up at the moment.

Uniform ironed, although the muggy air did make for a good sweat.
Smiles thanks to the arrival of Mandy,, Jack and Charlie. And big hugs to Cathy and Laura.

Am a bit annoyed at the way Dougie barks at everything - big sighs

And it's Saturday

God I feel awful this morning - feels like a sinus infection, but, knowing my luck it's more likely to be a serious case of hay fever. Does hay fever taste that nasty?email

Friday, August 17, 2012

It's Friday

Am guessing I should be pleased its Friday, but I'm not.

Have just woken up.
My eyes are blurry and sore.
My back and leg ache because I slept "funny".
And there is a dog snoring loudly on the landing and I still have to survive 8 hours at work. Feeling Grumpy just doesn't cover it. Tomorrow should be a lie in day, but I bet that won't happen either.
Guess its time to slope off mumbling further to myself and put the kettle on.

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Look out

Lookout world - am feeling tired, fed up and mardy. Just thought it fair to waeveryone. And now I'm going to walk to dog - CLEAR THE WAY!email

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Oh, for gods sake .....

I really give up now, have had enough. We have people in hospital. Tilly's had tonsillitis for most of the week, and, of course, I once again wake up with "concrete nose syndrome " Not only that, but then I go back to sleep for another THREE hours. I know there are a lot of people with coughs, cold and viral infections at the moment , but as I have said, I have had enough of this.

Friday, July 06, 2012

Hummm

What I should be doing..
• Finishing up the bills.
• Finishing up my “Follow up” messages
• Clean the house
• Iron
What I am Doing ….
• Am pointlessly searching the internet for nothing in particular
• Aimlessly looking at my camera thinking “charge the battery idiot”
• Meandering around sorting the pile of information I have about Archery and Airguns
• IPadding (even when the computer is on)
• Looking out the window at the rain, staring
• Moaning to myself about tripping over Puppies Bone pile,, but doing nothing about it

I know the weather is bad, but really. Was sat at the computer when I hear, firstly a strange "cackle" from the kitchen, followed by the rushing foot steps of a rather large puppy on the Hallway floor. I get there to see a Jackdaw, in the kitchen doorway looking in. Dougie soon saw to the Jackdaw leaving, but I have never seen that type of bird, nearly in the kitchen. Was it trying to get out the rain??

Friday, June 22, 2012

An evil thought

Here I am, driving through the puddles and standing water of the countryside between Keadby and Eastoft. As I approach Luddington, a green Ford appears out of the bends and the drivers window is DOWN. Not only that, but we are both coming up to a big pool of standing water. It is at this point I can feel a smirk forming on my face, and that thought "if I can make that puddle at the right time, could i flick water into his window?"email

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Wet?

Well that a nice warm bath to finish a damp, wet, miserable day. You wouldn't think it's summer. Have not long since finished taking Dougie for a walk through Central Park. Most of the big grass spaces are still under a shallow, but significant pool of rain water. Nice!!email

Friday, June 01, 2012

Well, ain't it nice ....

Well, ain't it nice to look forward to a four day weekend. Should be sorting out soething or other tonight, but the eyes are heavy and the brain numb. Have a good, good weekend everyone

Sunday, May 27, 2012

i was right ....

Looks like I was right, I did go back to sleep.
And 7 O' clock was involved.
Only that became the time that puppy decided it was time I woke up AGAIN!!!!
Boy my head is going to ache today ;0)

It's What Time??

I had forgotten what 4 O'clock in the morning really looks like, and it's brighter and noisier than I remember.
I have some vague recollection of a bedroom door closing (slamming would be more accurate) in the recesses of a sleeping mind. I'm not sure of the time period involved, but next thing I'm certain of is the morning greeting of a sloppy puppy.
And, because I'm a nice person, I have come downstairs to keep Douggie entertained for a while.
Am guessing I will be snoring again, probably in the chair, by 7.
One thing though, the Dawn Chorus is a lot louder than I recall!!

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Am glad I'm now full (face full of Pork and Chips), after a pleasant Puppy walk in the park. Absolutely SHATTERED now and I could sleep for a week

What the .....

Caring person that I am, I spent my own lunch break shopping for some Puppy Food. Having brought him some more tins, biscuits, a larger water dish and an ace "fighting" pull rope, I noticed the shop was selling cow bones for dogs to chew on. Looking at the bag size I thought there would be two or three bits - that would be a good buy. Get home and Dougie like the alternate food, and the rope. Looking down at the state of his old bone, I though ideal time to open the bag.
Yeah gods, instead of two three bits, it looks like a single side of cow. Massive.
No wonder Dougal circled it severals times before he tried to move it

Moro GP

Am watching the Le Mans Moto GP on BBC HD. Am always impressed how the F1/GP2 drivers race in rainy conditions. Am even more impressed how the Motorbike lads tear round in the rain.

That said Carl Crutchlow has just slid off on his backside

Lorenzo, on the other hand is not only leading, but going faster and faster. Even the Doctor is back in the house

Monday 1st May 2012

It looks like we were being spoilt yesterday afternoon, as the weather is back to gloom, dank and cold.
Doesn't really matter, as most of my "projects" are indoors and, sadly, not weather effected.
Anyone I know who is out in the rain, cover up and fastern down and have a good day.

Phone Update

Am making progress, although it did involve removing the various associated accounts, pulling the battery, and then starting again. Not keen on the touch screen keyboard (but then I have never been good with ANY touch screen keyboard - fat fingers), but I will manage, I'm sure.

Thick!!!

Morning! God I can be thick. Have acquired a nice 2nd hand Blackberry Torch. In nice condition (bar one tiny scratch) and had got it working nicely. But I couldn't leave alone - now it doesn't sync properly and I cant remember what I altered. Time for a Google

Saturaday 28th, April 2012

Got to love a Saturday Morning.
Have nodded off, yet again.
Yet still get to see a couple of hours of favourite history programming.
Mike Loudes with Weaponds that made Britain - The Longbow, and then Russell Crowe and the Real Robin Hood.
Can't understand why I would be interested ;0)

I thought our Dog wasn't supposed to shed hair??? I Don't Think So!!

OUCH!!! Again

Morning and welcome to the weekend. looks like the weather is going to be "special" yet again. Have woken up feeling like I have been stabbed in the back, stiff in the small of the back, and a sharp pain the the shoulder - oh joy

Friday, April 27, 2012

Friday

Morning, and welcome to yet another miserable day.
Awake and up, once again far too early.
Have just seen Liam set off his Uni Interview, and I am watching something gentle - NOT.
Could be watching the news, or something "Historical". But no, I have to watch the Scott Brothers co-production with the History Channel - GETTYSBERG.
You know its going to realistic (as far as these things can ever be for TV) when you have to enter your Sky PIN.

Wednesday 25th April 2012

What is it with drivers in Scunthorpe at the moment?
Before anyone starts, I know, I'm not the best driver on the planet. But at least I didn't do this.
In the last TWO days I have seen two cars go the wrong way down the one way section of Dunstall Street (but 5 minutes apart). Three or four cars trying to turn right out of Church Lane, on to the Kingsway, even though it it clearly signed "No Right Turn", and there are more and more cars running the Howdens Hill lights - with several thinking that red is the new green.
Now flat cap back on, and back to driving at 20.

Monaco GP 1955 Just shows how things have changed. Sky have just shown a piece about the Monaco GP in 1955. And it just shows you how things have changed. Sandbags on the corners and walls "to protect the drivers" A number of boats out in the bay, one being used to pick up Ascari as he swims away from his car as it flew into the water, and then to the bottom of the harbour. Thin tyres and proper racing - just shows how things have been sterilised to some extent.

Ouch!!!

That might have knackered things - nodded off on the settee. Wakeup to find the puppy is using me as a cushion - cute! Less cute is the fact I'm struggling to bend my back, and I have a pain running through my lower back and into the top of my right (now Twitching) leg. Need to find that list of recommended exercises

That's funny

Puppy, sat on the settee (and Cathy will do her nut!!) looks up as I wander through to the kitchen as an urgent coffee refill is required. The nose appears around the door, followed by those puppy dog eyes. Dougal stands for a few moments and then looks.
You can see the thoughts now going through a Puppy mind, and he walks straight over to the bread loaf on the kitchen table - pointing straight to it.
I'm guessing puppy wants toast!

It's Saturday

Morning everyone - ITS THE WEEK END!! YEAH.
Mores the pity, the weather forecast is for more rain. Then rain and possibly more rain. At least I have the chance to draw a couple of pictures this week, that's something I haven't done in a while. Mind you, all it odes is remind me to finish the watercolours I started last year!
Have a good weekend everyone.

Wednesday 18thApril 2012

This must seem like a consistent tirade of doom and gloom.
Not feeling well!
Not a good day at work!
You know what I mean.
But that is how it feels at the moment. It feels like you get penalised at work for doing the job the way you were trained to do. It feels like the whole of life is eat, sleep and work.
Not a happy bunny this morning.

Tuesday, 3rd April 2012

Morning All. Went to bed really early feeling bad. Wake up feeling the same. The one thing I have recently realised is that the modern world runs too fast for me. Night still follows Day, but the world of today wants me to put more in a day than I have the energy to do. Or really want to do. The modern world is leaving me behind, and, I don't care. Let it run off. Burn it's self out. I may not catch up, but I will still be moving.

Friday 23rd March 2012

Morning all, and welcome to Friday.
Doesn't feel like I have had a week off, I'm sure I would have done less at work. And, another busy day beckons.
Skip visit is urgently required, followed by a visit to the DIY store for parts. Then @10 I might actually start doing something ;0(
Better dose up on coffee then!!

what happens ....

... To all the iPad 2's?

Now the world is slowly being infested with the iPad 3, obviously a greatly inflated prices, as is normal for any Apple product, what has happened to all the iPad 2's?

Do Apple "recover" them, forcing people to buy the latest incarnation, or has something else happened to them. Donated to orphans? Sent to the third world to help delevop local skills ? Am questing I already know.

If anyone from Apple, or one of their suppliers is out there, I will give you some cash for a couple of the old versions. Justntontake them off their hands you understand.

Attached, hopefully, is an email form one of the sharing sites that I use - Posterous. They have just been purchased by Twitter, who have a bit of a rep for being buy, use and close merchants. The statement from Posterous seems, to me, to be vague.

Well, that went really well ....

I am still shell shocked after the world wind of activity that made up the main part of my Monday morning.

The Window Fitters managed to fit, effectively, 18 windows and 2 doors in less than 12 hours (9.5 to be exact) Fair enough, 10 of the windows where those involved in the two bays, but even so, impressed.

It just today we have to put back curtain rails, blinds and the like . We already have a couple of trailers full to go down to the skip and then we can start on all the other going jobs 😉

Never mind, well happy with the work done yesterday - oh we'll, time for my first coffee and then away we go!!

Lauras Concert

Half time @ Lauras concert. Been used as a seat and a tripod, whilst trying to coach a 4 year old how to use a camera.
And the concert. Its pretty good as these things go. Made all the more entertaining for the on off escape of a toddler.
Just waiting for Laura and jemma's solos.email

Thursday 14th March 2012

Good morning everyone and welcome to Thursday - yeah!! Nearly Friday and the weekend!!

What a morning to wake up to. As I stand making breakfast, or looking out of the Front Room window staring down the street. The whole of my real world has vanished into the mists of a foggy morning. Once in a while a wispy wraith walks passed in the mist and the murk. Am not really looking forward to filling my van, let alone travelling out to where my jobs will be. It's already cold and damp.

Luckily, the mist is only due to stay till mid morning. The, smiles all round. Have a safe day everyone.

What the hell is it with Road Works?

I know we British are preoccupied with the damned things. And that they are, in some cases least ways , necessary. But what is it with this year - there have been, seemingly, so many more than normal.

I have just travelled around 12 miles and encountered 3 sets of roadworks. One set, which is a long term set, is following the route of a long term set of roadworks ( for another utility) that only finished a month or so ago.

It just drives you nuts!!

Well here ends another weekend , and, I am sat on the bed wondering what in the name of all that is holy am I doing ?
In have been ironing, on and off, all day.
And I am absolutely shattered. So I have a bath, get ready for bed and, instead of going to sleep I am sat here watching three psychics hunt for clues of the Zodiac Killer. I must be mad!
Am also guessing Cathy will find me snoring and the TV playing to its self.
Night night everyone. Sleep well.

A Sunday Ummm???

Morning all, and it's nearly the weekend - yeah!
Noticed a few stories about the release of the iPad 3 with little honest interest when I thought "I wonder?"
So went straight to my iPad and onto the settings screen.
Taking a deep, deep breath I pressed the newly indicated update message.
Needless to say, I'm still typing!

Isn't it strange, the thoughts that go through your mind as you wake.

Today's?

If zombies are supposed to be "The Living Dead" do they have head, back and joint pain like me?

hows that work??

Huh, how does this work?
Have just looked at my twitter feed, via Hellotxt, and nearly every blokes icon is the smiling face of Peter Levy, off "Look North".
Having looked a bit further down the list, I even noticed that even included Kelly Holmes???

Wednesday 7th March 2012 morning

Morning everyone, and welcome to a very early portion of the middle of the week.

Although it is still dark as I look out of the window, I am expecting to have to scrape the Van windscreen yet again. The air in the bathroom is cold. I'm cold, and the eyes have, once again refused to work due to lack of interest.
At least tonight is Archery night, so I have something to look forward to.
Take it easy everyone , and have a safe one.

Now I'm Confused

Well, that's another Monday work day stored in the finished history file. But I am now confused.

Up, until a few hours ago, I was fixed in my mind what I was going to do when my present mobile phone contract comes up for renewal. It was going to be easy - really like my BlackBerry, so I would up grade to the latest BlackBerry and away we would go again. That was until I got a job in a famous high street phone shop.

I saw the Samsung Note and the Google Nexus, drool, drool
Now I don't know. Tomorrow may be a return to the status quo, but I doubt it.
Hummmmmmm........

sunday 4th March 2012 - late afternoon

As I type this, Ireland are playing France at Rugby
And I am still drying out from taking the dog for a walk.

Not an hour or so before, with a bitter wind, icy rain and sleet, and the beginning of a snow shower, we had left Tesco's making the usual comments that the British make in this weather. "We must be mad to be out in this" etc, etc, etc.

Yet, here I am, just in from walking the dog. Still with a brain freeze that would normally grace wolfing down a well frozen lolly. My trainers have leaked, my nose has dripped and I don't think I will be warm for the rest of the day.
And, before anyone says, I know - I must be mad!

Sunday 4th March 2012

Well, there we go, yet another week over, and another Monday starts to loom over the horizon.I Am, I have to say, wallowing in a mound of too much to do.
There are so many things that need doing.
I, as usual, haven't got a clue what to do first.
Am guessing that a Supermarket visit is the most important .
Nothing to eat sort of focuses the mind. But it will be a puppy walk first, then fill the washer. Try and finish the bills, run round after my own tail. Ironing. Staring into the wild blue yonder wondering.
Told you I had plenty to do ;0)

Am not looking forward to today

Morning all, it Saturday, I'm at work, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Saturdays have never been my most favourite work day, seeing that there is so much more I could be doing. Nothing (like nothing!!). Walking the dog. Archery. You get the drift.

But work it has to be. It's just, because all the other departments have a weekend, or at least a skeleton staff at best, everything we do is just that much harder to achieve. Never mind, I guess it something that I have gotten used to over time.

But I still don't like working Saturdays .

Nuts

#mine Have just had the Puppy doing his nut, he really doesn't like the Hoover at all. While it was running, he was jumping all over the hose, attacking the carpet head and the then the end of the hose, after that noise. I knew he wasn't keen on the sweeping brush, but this really took the biscuit.

email

The more often I take Dougal for a walk the more I'm convinced I'm walking a mole!!
Anywhere where the Council has dug out a tree, turned over a flower bed and trimmed the grass, Puppy's there, nose in and often digging.

He used to have a sandy coloured nose - now its black

Not only a mole, but a vegetarian LOL - Puppy has just nicked two of my chewing carrots

Sort of hate days off. Not the fact that your not at work, of course, that is always an advantage ;0), but the fact I don't feel like doing anything at the moment.I know I have a list of jobs as long as your arm, and am not sure where to start. And there isn't really "a beginning" it is just one of those lists that vanishes over the horizon.

Tired, so tired

Monday 27th Febuary 2012 - just after 9
Am now feeling so,so tired. Have slept well, other than waking up at work time on my day off, bit that's really nothing new. Had a fairly successful day yesterday.
But started off the day feeling tired, and it's not going to get any better, or so it seems. Have just come back from the Gym, the first visit in several months and, instead of feeling invigorated , I have just come back feeling deflated and disappointed. This morning has just reminded me how much progress I was making, and how much effort has now been wasted and the amount of work now needed just to get back to where I was.
And, I'm off the the dentist!!
Perfect!

I'm sat sat here with one of the broadest smiles I have had in a long while. Not only did I win the BareBow Competition on the day, but I won the whole Barebow Winter series, and a proper trophy. Laura also won the junior lady compound day and series. And Liverpool have not long since won the Carling Cup. A nice day all told

oh dear

morning all and welcome to Thursday. Am guessing puppy was bored overnight as I have just come down to find Dougal, in his bed, with a big pile of "swag " - to wit all the socks and pants he could find and reach.

Nice

Well that was fun!! Just been working at a roadside box, over looking the Motorway, for the last 3 hours. God it was cold. Daftest thing was you could watch the fog make its slow way across the bridge.

Morning All, and welcome to a cold, icy Monday. Pleased to have got back safe from Jersey, although the Motorways were dodgy, especially the Fog - nasty. Well I can tell I'm back, had a strange dream for the first time in a week, not that you ever remember much. And it's just about time to go to work - be safe everyone

Did I need this?

Well that was sort of strange. A visit to the loo concluded with an odd conversation with the attendant about the amount of toilet paper people seem to use at airports. Am guessing that I didn't really want to know!!!

Sunday 5th Feb. 2012 - Sad, I know, but am sat here, in Jersey Airport Departures waiting for checkin to open for the flight back to the snow. It has to be said, as It's still winter, the Jersey we had seen in past summmers was still "closed for the Winter " That said, we had a chilled, pressure free few days. The pity being the stress will begin again in the next few hours as we try to make our way home from Liverpool Airport. It has been quite nice to not be available. The phone has been trimmed down, temporarily, to its basic functions - no emails, no alerts and no pointless looking (cheapskate that I am,I wont pay a premium for going off the UK mainland) . Could still Facebook off the laptop, but only from the hotel room. And only when we could be bothered. Yes a nice calm few days all round.

Morning all, and big thanks to the puppy for an early morning "present".
He has also found away over the kitchen baby gate - nuts!
We are two - thirds ready for my birthday trip. Its time for the kids to baby sit the dog (or will it be the other way round) .
Puppy is getting a long term cuddle while I wake up myself. Am a bit concerned about weather though. Looks like we picked the coldest weekend to go away. We will see.
Have a good safe weekend everyone

Big ouch!

Now I'm seriously not a happy bunny. Have just had to retire from shooting due to the arm starting to twitch. At least Lauras doing ok. Annoyed, annoyed, annoyed!!!!

Ouch!

Moving slowly into mardy territory. After shooting pretty well (for me) this morning, this afternoon is started off as a bit of a disaster. A couple of early misses and sore back and muscles is not making for a happy Archer. In fact, quite the reverse!!

Here we go ..

Cars packed and ready. The Puppy has picked up, and eaten, the boiled eggs that fell out of the fridge. It is time to leave and head over to Trackside for a Vegas Indoor shoot. Which should be good, cause in all these years of attending Archery Competitions, neither myself or Laura have ever shot this round. Should be interesting!!

Nice!

what a nice afternoon to shoot some arrows. OK we are not talking red hot. Of course not. But the wind is slight, the sun is bright, there are few clouds to spoil the view. So its shades on (with prescription lenses) and the old wooden bow and wooden arrows. What more can you say?

Feeling sad, Mardy and sore. And have spent most of the last few hours asleep (and that would have been longer if it hadn't been for the damn phone). What the waste of a day off!! Moaning again ain't I?

Tired and a bit fed up

Really should stop whining, but it does give me something to do. Really should get a Doctors appointment to check out my back, but I haven't . Should get the dog to the vet, seeing as he seemed to have taken a fancy to chewing the top of his leg. But that shouldn't be to difficult. And now, I'm trying to decide whether I should have some breakfast or not, as I seem to be having a bit of an IBS pain episode. And both solutions seem to help and hinder this situation in equal measure. Of stuff it, drop Laura off at college and reactive the coffee making devices!!

email

Well that went well. Trying to sort out some money for new windows when it asks for my employers address? WHAT? Then idiot here presses the close icon, instead of minimise and the whole of 15 minutes work vanishes into the ether. OH NUTS!!

The little sod! The puppy pinched the top deck of my sausage sarnie. So do I now have a Sausage Sand, or a sausage wich?

What is the fascination with the Titanic

Am sat here, getting ready to take the puppy for a walk, watching yet another program about the Titanic. It will be 100 years in April since the Titanic set sail. And yet, with all these films, documentaries and actual research projects there still is no definitive conclusion to the cause of the disaster . The result goes without saying. Less thinking and back to the real world of puppy walking in the clear cold of a January winters dayemail

Morning all, am just getting ready to walk the dog, pondering the following. With the club Archery sessions this afternoon, do I take my Compound and cram in some last minute practice? Or, which is probably more realistic, should I just take my longbow/flat bow / BareBow . Enjoy the afternoon and coach some of the newbies who will be there? Am guessing I know the answer as I type.

Typical

How dare they spoil my pointless daytime viewing. Damn the BBC for swapping Bargain Hunt for the Tennis. It's only a Scotsman after all ;0)

Had to force myself to watch this epic struggle. Just for evidence should I wish to write in and complain, you understand.

A new Bow sight

I really should stop using eBay, but it is far to useful. As my family and Archery colleagues are aware, I am NOT a one bow man. And, in those numerous bows I have two Compound bows, one newly purchased and the other an eBay special. The eBay Hoyt was intended as a Field Bow and originally had a multi - pin sight on it. However hard I tried with this type of sight, it just didn't seem to suit me. Anyway, Wednesday morning saw the eventual arrival (delayed thanks to UK Customs sticking another charge on top), of a sinmgle pin, adjustable sight form the US. Not an expensive item compared to the sights you buy from the big players in the market, but it seemed decent enough. I didnt realise how good though until it was fitted and ready to go.

The indoor session on Wednesday night was really meant to be practice ready for the Vegus Round on Sunday. But, with half an hour of the session to go I thought "what the hell" and got the Field Bow, and its new sight out to play with.

Impressed didn't cover it. With just a couple of minor adjustments, the whole thing was on the money. Not just hitting the centre Golds (X's - yeah) but also taking out the centre images of a pile of playing cards.

Must remember to give positive feedback for this sight on eBay.

Hummmm

Another hummmm thought. Am typing this message on my BlackBerry, but, on some of the web browser pages it is difficult to see and use that website. So I'm wondering - do I stay with blackberry? (and move over to the torch version) of should I take the iphone option? Is there something androidy that I could move over to? Or is it the curse of any mobile phone, that the screen is small and not that easy to use?

Cold!!

Its the middle of the day, and its wet. Its damp. And its cold! And guess who's just got an out side job. Now, where's my big, thick coat?

Thanks for nothing!

An open to message to the Drunken Fool (or fools) who think its funny to damage private property - to wit, tying knots with our windscreen wipers. If you would be so kind as to leave £100 in way of repairs and compensation it would be much appreciated. IDIOT!!!

I know that - at my advanced age, that aches and pains come with the territory, but my leg is numb (again) and I appear to have aquired a number of spots and bruises! Never mind - time to put the kettle back on.

Wow!!

This is going to sound so twee, but there you go. I knew kids could grow quickly, but puppy's take the biscuit. When we first got him, he couldn't see over the seat of the chair, let alone the table top. Only last week he had to use the chair, and full body stretch, to just see the table. Now, the nose has appeared above the level of the table without any effort - Oh Dear!!

Morning

Morning all, and welcome to a wet cold Friday. Not really a lot else to say. Have a safe, dry day.

Puppy Hypnosis part 2 - use M&S chicken and Brown bread. Same result. Am guessing there is a theme developing here ;0)

What the hell??? First day off, and there is no real need to be awake AT ALL!! But have been awake since 5. Oh Sod!! Have a good day everyone

Saturday, January 21, 2012

I must be mad! It's almost bad enough to have to get up at all for work on a Saturday, but to wake up, yet again, far to early to be good for you. Then to be met by an over excited puppy really isnt what I need when I'm still trying to work out which part of my body is still not working.
The eyes barely work. The back aches and the state of the house is driving me mental.
I'm going to be a grumpy git all day.

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Well that's a first

I know this may sound really pathetic, but I have, for the first time , actually managed to take the dog for a walk single handed. Admittedly it took some bribery to start with, but once we were clear of the street it took bribery to get him home again.

musing at lunch

Here I'm sat quietly having lunch at work while realising that I really have so much "Internet Rubbish" There must be hundre...
