This is one of those test message things that i like doing , seemingly, every other week. We'll see if this any better than some of the other things that I tried.

2010 is all but finished, and 2011 a few short hours away. To everyone I know and care for, a Happy and peaceful New Year.

Look back over last year

It is seemingly traditional to review the last 12 months at this point of the year.

I have to say I stopped that sort of thing a long time ago, when the negatives out numbered the positives, but not overwhelmed them.

And it has to be said, this year hasn't really been any different to previous years from that point of view. There have been some trials for sure. Several sessions of pain,pain and more pain. But I'm still alive - damaged, bent and twisted. pained, but still able to do what I would wish too. so this year hasn't been the best year, but certainly not the worst.

The morning is setting off slowly, and not to bad got that. Am actually wondering what to do first?

Have tried some of the handwriting apps for my pad, and I have to say they are nothing special, even compared to the input apps that actually come with the tab. The swype app (and the app being used to write this) is actually beating all the other options hands down. It still catches me out with certain little foibles, but, as a general rule it is even far quicker than even using the inbuilt keyboard functions.

Anyway, back to uploading photos top Facebook.

Must get out more. Just come out to pick up lee from work, AND I'm FROZEN. Lesson? Stay indoors

Christmas morning, and a visit to a Doctor

Well that was fun.

Just been upto Out of Hours at the local Hospital with a swollen,red mottled leg.

All ok, luckily. Thought it might be some thing serious, but the Doctor has checked and all is reasonably well. Just no more dancing for a day or two.

Just done an early job for mum. Early call reminded me of someone who won't be here this christmas. Guess I'm a bit like him too. A few tears.

Middle of nowhere, but not so bad.

Having five minutes come dinner break. Am at Garthorpe, which could well be classed as the middle of no where. A little bit unfair I guess, but it is certainly rural.

Have been down the road between the villages hundreds of times and thsts not a lot you can say really. Theres lots of very open fields, few treesa and very little else.

But today? Today was something special. With a low golden sun back lighting the whole county side, the whole scene was a picture of beauty. The trees, the few that there are were illuminated by a golden halo, tinged with the white of the hoare frost and remaining snow.

Beautiful.

Beautiful that is. Until I caught up with the back end of a filthy big red, diesel, Bus.

It was nice whilst it lasted.

A Dear Diary update - Sunday 19th December

Am really tired today. Poorly type tired I guess. Although, I have to say, I'm not really sure why.

Am making the last few attempts at recovering the photos from Charlie's christening, but it really isn't looking good.

We'll see. Oh well, back to the ironing.

It looks like some of the photo's taken at Charlies Christening have been lost forever. Have downloaded, tired and even purchase a couple of photo recovery software. But without success. Will continue trying later today, but I'm not holding my breath

Thursday morning - 09.30 a.m.

Am out in the middle of nowhere (Eastoft to be honest), and boy is it grim. Eastoft is one of those nice is summer places, but today. The weather is damp, cold and very wind blown. Have taken shelter with a heater for a few moments before going on to the next job.
